Fresh pool of SCC mediators 25 February 2010
During autumn 2009 the SCC Mediation Institute was in charge of an exclusive mediation training. The training, which was held by Eric Runesson, the chairperson of the Board of the Mediation Institute, was very qualified and was completed with a graduation in shape of a simulated mediation. The participants who passed received a certificate saying that the SCC now certifies them mediators.
The purpose of the training was to give the participants an understanding for how negotiations should be prepared and executed in order to promote a constructive and successful mediation. The participants also had a chance to work with realistic cases. They were able to give feedback to each other after different negotiation role-plays.
The certified mediators are specially trained for
· Leading and coaching the parties to efficient settlement negotiations
· Helping the parties to find appropriate solutions
· Persuade the parties to focus on their interests rather than their positions
· Assist the parties into saving time and costs
If you have any questions regarding mediation or about the certified mediators, please contact David Ramsjö.
What is mediation?
Mediation can be used as an alternative to formal litigation or arbitral proceedings when the parties prefer to reach a settlement. The advantages are that you get a fast, flexible and cost efficient resolution to the dispute. The overall goal is to sustain the business relationship so that the parties can focus on doing business, instead of disputing. The SCC has established a Mediation Institute, which has adopted Mediation Rules specially suited to the business world’s need of a fast and efficient dispute resolution.
