Young Lawyers’ Debate Hot Issues
14 August 2012

All lawyers interested in current issues in international arbitration are invited to the Young Lawyers’ Debate to network and share ideas and experiences.  The lively debate is held in conjunction with Swedish Arbitration Days 2012 on Wednesday, 12 September from 16:00-18:00 and will be followed by a reception with refreshments and canapés.

The panellist of young lawyers will debate two hot issues in international arbitration – first, whether all members of an arbitral tribunal should be appointed by an institution or other appointing authority, rather than by the parties and second, whether it should be permitted to use tribunal secretaries, disclosed or undisclosed, other than for purely administrative tasks.

The debate will be moderated by John Fellas, Hughes Hubbard & Reed, New York and Patricia Shaughnessy, Stockholm University and SCC Board Member.  The six panellists will be Johannes Lundblad, Grönberg, Stockholm; Noradèle Radjal, LALIVE, Geneva; Charles Nairac, White & Case, Paris; Markyian Kliuchkovskyi, EPAM, Kiev; Fredrik Ringquist, Mannheimer Swartling, Moscow; and Maria Elvung, ABB, Sweden.
The debate and reception will be held at Näringslivets hus, Storgatan 19, Stockholm.

The debate and reception are free of charge. To register for the reception, please email Ms. Agneta King at YoungReception@msa.se, stating your name, law firm/organisation and city, by 29 August 2012.
