The SCC has developed into one of the leading centres for the resolution of investment treaty disputes. Since 1993, the SCC has administered or acted as appointing authority in fifty investment arbitrations emanating from multilateral and bilateral investment protection agreements, as well as from direct agreements. More than 120 investment treaties signed by more than 64 states, including many from the Arab world, today list the SCC as one of the institution to assist investors and states in resolving their treaty disputes.
