How to build a career in international arbitration in a foreign jurisdiction
Domitille Baizeau will share with you her experience in building her career in international arbitration, working outside her jurisdiction of origin for two leading firms in the field.

Domitille is a dual New Zealand/French national, who initially trained in New Zealand and is also admitted in England & Wales and in Geneva.
She has over fifteen years of experience in dispute resolution, with the last ten practising exclusively in international arbitration as counsel and arbitrator, first with Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in Paris and, since 2004, in Geneva with LALIVE, where she is a partner.

Domitille is a member of the Arbitration Court of the Swiss Chambers' Arbitration Institution which administers arbitrations subject to the Swiss Rules of International Arbitration; she has acted for several years as co-chair of ASA below 40 (Swiss Arbitration Association) and as co-chair of the LCIA's Young International Arbitration Group (YIAG).  She is also a member of the Executive Committee of the Swedish Arbitration Association (SAA) and a member of the Editorial Board of the ASA Bulletin.
She has been ranked for several years by Chambers Europe and Chambers Global in arbitration and since 2010 in The International Who's Who of Commercial Arbitration. In 2011, she was selected as one of 45 "leading figures" in international arbitration below the age of 45, following a peer-review process conducted by Global Arbitration Law Review.

SWAN is the Swedish Women in Arbitration Network, a network for women who work with or are interested in arbitration. SWAN begun in 2009 with just a small group of women but has quickly grown into a dynamic organisation consisting of qualified members with the shared interest of exchanging experiences and promoting women in arbitration.

SWAN regularly hosts events, such as panel debates, after works, inspirational lunches and practical seminars, for its members and those interested in arbitration, and it recently launched a member directory to promote women in arbitration and to highlight SWAN members as potential counsel and arbitrators.

The SCC has been a continuous supporter of SWAN since its inception in 2009.
