SCC-CIETAC Symposiums on International Arbitration

The SCC in conjunction with CIETAC will be organizing two half-day Symposiums on International Arbitration to be held on 18 September 2012 in Beijing, China and on 20 September 2012 in Dalian, China.

Divided in three sessions, the Symposiums will cover new developments of CIETAC and SCC, new practices in CIETAC and arbitration practices in Stockholm. Attendees will be able to learn from the perspectives of both Swedish and Chinese practitioners. Mr Yu Jianlong, Secretary General of CIETAC and Annette Magnusson, Secretary General of SCC are amongst the speakers of these events.

Since 2000 the SCC has registered 70 cases involving Chinese parties, of which 57 cases were conducted under the SCC Rules. Chinese parties have also initiated before the SCC Expedited Arbitrations, UNCITRAL Arbitrations, Ad-Hoc Arbitrations, Appointments of Expert Valuator and Emergency Arbitrations.  CIETAC has recently revised its proceedings, releasing its new set of CIETAC Arbitration Rules effective since May 2012.
